Something Understood: Because of the Fire

26 October 2008
Presented by Jane Ray
Produced by Alan Hall

Alan Hall The fire at the Royal Marsden hospital last January brought together three friends of today’s presenter, Jane Ray. From this chance encounter on the pavement - wearing pyjamas, treatment disrupted – Jane reflects upon those moments in which life-changing events happen, brief encounters that can lead to friendship, romance or tragedy. With readings from Ezra Pound, Thomas Hardy and Carol Ann Duffy and music by Debussy, REM and Tandie Klaasen.
