American Awards Success

Two Falling Tree productions received awards at this autumn's Third Coast Festival 2008: John Wynne's Hearts, Lungs and Minds received the Bronze Award (John's second award for a Falling Tree production!) and Pejk Malinovski's Dreaming of Osama an Honorable Mention (Pejk previously won a Directors' Choice award for a WNYC feature).

This is a great achievement, given that over three hundred programmes from around the English-speaking world competed for fewer than 10 awards.

And we're delighted to see that a great friend of Falling Tree, Chris Brookes, received the Third Coast Audio Luminary Award.

Sara Parker was one of the guest speakers at this year's Third Coast Festival conference, talking about her father's Radio Ballads, about which she made Like Blackpool Went Through Rock (a Falling Tree production for BBC Radio 4) on the 50th anniversary of the broadcast of The Ballad of John Axon.
