New commissions for Newstalk, Dublin

Forthcoming programmes on Newstalk 106-108 FM, Dublin in 2009

Rachel Hopkin will be making a series about the emigration of Irish music around the world, called Emerald Streams, and Nina Perry produces The Music Tree, in which Irish flute maker Martin Doyle visits the place where the wood he uses - the blackwood or mpingo - is grown in Tanzania. Broadcaster Gerry Anderson will present Before Their Time, an investigation into the high suicide rate among young men in Northern Ireland. And Sean Street explores the music of Delia Murphy, whose recordings of Irish folksongs filled his family home as a child - The Queen of Connemara.
