Forthcoming programmes in 2009

Katie Burningham will produce a 3-part series about the role of the bicycle around the world, in 'The Bicycle Diaries' (tx. Jan 15 - 26 at 09:00) set in Paris, Kampala and Delhi. Katie will also be producing a second 3-part series within The Friday Documentary strand, called 'Public Places, Private Lives'. The first programme focuses on Trafalgar Square (tx. March 6 at 09:00), and will be a portrait of the place from the perspective of those who visit it regularly and for whom it is much more than just a tourist destination.

Alan Hall and Katie Burningham will be collaborating on a 4-part series about bridges, called 'Spanning the World'. Nina Perry explores the phenomenon of message sending in 'Message in a Bottle', Dan Shepherd will produce a programme about radio enthusiast 'Gerry Wells' who has set up a radio museum in his home and Ellie Richold produces a composed feature about the rich history and cultural significance of the scallop.
